Philosophy on Mental Health

The years leading to adulthood are full of change and turbulence and can often be difficult to navigate alone. I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults and their families in assisting them with mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse and a variety of other issues that can be roadblocks during emerging adulthood. I believe counseling is a collaborative experience, and see my role in the process as offering empathy, support, guidance and education in order to help my clients and their families reach their goals.

Education and Training

I have my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Master of Science in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University. I have experience and training in crisis counseling and substance abuse treatment, and have been in private practice since 2009.

Services

I work with adolescents, young adults, men, women, couples and families and employ eclectic practices to enhance the client’s well-being. As a pastoral counselor, I also believe in drawing from the clients faith background and community when appropriate to provide resources toward mental healing. In addition to my counseling services, I also offer talks and workshops on parenting, marriage and relationships for churches, schools and other community organizations.

Personal Statement

I have been a resident of Maryland all my life, and grew up in Howard County. I enjoy swimming, climbing, hiking and video games and am involved in my local church community and as a leader in the local Boy Scout troop.
