Navigate Parenting Challenges with Our Parent Support Group
The world today is a much different place than the one in which we (the parents) grew up. It presents questions and difficulties that we and our support systems have no experience with, no frame of reference. And this is precisely the world in which we have to raise our children and the world we have to help them learn to navigate. A parent support group can be a tremendous support when parents feel overwhelmed, outgunned and outnumbered by their kids and teenagers.
Goals of our Parent Support Group
Crossroads, in cooperation with Howard County Pediatrics are presenting this group intended to be a place where parents can look to others for support who are going through the same thing and may be struggling with the same difficulties. Led by a licensed clinician who will help guide the conversation and give feedback, this group affords an opportunity to discuss topics such as general parenting, discipline, communication, screens and technology, schools, parent burnout, ADHD, anxiety, depression, etc. This will be an open-ended group intended to help parents navigate the many and varied challenges of raising children and teenagers. It will be a place to ask questions and to learn from other parents what has worked and what hasn’t.
Facilitator
The group will be facilitated by David A. Gold, Ph.D. of Crossroads Psychological Associates. Dr. Gold has 30 years of experience working with children and teens and providing guidance and support for their parents in Howard County and throughout Maryland.
